Despite the economic, living and financial conditions, the municipality of Zouk Mikael is preparing to introduce smiles to the people of its town and to all its visitors, Lebanese residents and expatriates who have returned to Lebanon voluntarily or forcibly through a group of cultural and recreational activities, “returning the beautiful time to the town and Lebanon,” says the President. The municipality, Elias Al-Bainou, who complained of “lack of money due to the independent fund of the municipalities preventing payment of dues to the municipality from the years 2017 to the present day, but we are determined to joy and see the smile on the faces of our children through a group of cultural, heritage, and recreational activities that return the beautiful time to the town And Lebanon. ”
He added: “The municipality, despite the difficult financial, economic and living conditions, thanks to the awareness of its children and its residents, has been able to enhance relations between them in a spirit of humanitarian, national and moral responsibility, and the efforts that have emerged through the voluntary volunteering of the equitable distribution of needy families through the assistance provided by the municipality or The Red Cross, or donations it received from humanitarian agencies and other charities through the mechanization approved by the municipality.
He continued: “We will strive to promote internal tourism in the town. Zouk Mikael is rich in its Roman stadiums and ancient markets, especially the silk market, its historic monastery, its public park, its sports complex, and the works of the loom, which few pioneers have left, in addition to its big men like Elias Abu Shabaka and Antoine Kazan And others. ”
And hoping that “Lebanon will overcome this major crisis with the least amount of losses,” he said: “We must have great faith in our country, especially when we unite and our efforts come together, putting our hands in each other’s hands, we can bring about wonders.”
